Arsenal goalkeeper Wojciech Szczesny is expected to extend his loan stay at Roma by another year, reports in Italy say.

Football Italia claim Roma were impressed with the Pole’s performances last term and have now struck a deal for the Arsenal stopper to stay in Italy until the end of next season.

Roma and Arsenal will both shoulder the responsibility for paying the player’s salary, which comes out at €3million-a-year after tax.

The 26-year-old Szczesny’s current contract at Arsenal is set to expire in 2018.
