Manchester United are clear to sign John Stones this summer after Chelsea pulled out of the race, according to the Sunday Express.

The Red Devils have been interested in the young England defender but were expected to be outbid by the Londoners this summer.

However, latest reports suggest that Chelsea are refusing to be drawn into any kind of bidding war so are turning their attention elsewhere.

Chelsea had a £37million bid for Stones turned down last summer and it could take a bid of £40million to sign him this year.
