Juan Mata is desperate to sign a new contract with Manchester United, according to reports.

The Spaniard joined United two years ago and has another two years to run on that deal.

The Daily Star claim he wants to sign a renewal to assure him of his future at the club with speculation linking Jose Mourinho with the manager's job at United refusing to go away.

Mourinho sold Mata to United when he was in charge of Chelsea and it is unclear whether he would give the Spaniard a chance at Old Trafford.
