Tusker picked three crucial three points away from home after stopping Muhoroni Youth 2-1 in a Kenyan Premier League match in Muhoroni yesterday.

Wycliffe Ochomo put the home side ahead in the 10th minute before Anthony Ekhaliani Ndolo and Collins Shivachi equalised for the brewers.

In another match, Mathare United failed to bring down a determined Kakamega Homeboyz side as Rangers won 1-0 against Sofapaka in a KPL double header at Kasarani yesterday.

Mathare United will have themselves to blame for not picking all three points after losing numerous scoring chances.

However, Homeboyz defenders also had to make some last ditch clearances off the line twice.

In another match, Moses Otieno scored the only goal for Rangers in the 46th minute to give the new comers their second win of the season.

Rangers started strongly with Charles Odette’s thunderbolt going just wide in the third minute.

Then two minutes later Gearshon Likonoh had his well-placed header missing the target.

Sofapaka’s Eric Ochieng’ was then cautioned after bringing down Timothy Otieno as Batoto ba Mungu tried to match the Rangers side.

Rangers had more of the ball and had several shots at the Sofapaka goal but most of them were just tame efforts.

In the 11th minute Jockins Atudo’s thunderbolt seemed destined for the top corner, but only for the ball to gain some trajectory in motion and hit the crossbar.

Dennis Mukaisi then had another attempt but it was easily dealt with by Barnabas Tiema in goal for Sofapaka.

Rangers came back strongly in the second half and Moses Otieno was on the mark almost immediately giving his side the lead.

Sofapaka’s Heritier Luvalu then had his attempt deflected for a fruitless corner but it was the only chance for the losers. At Chemelil Sugar, Nairobi City Stars picked an away point after holding the sugar millers to a barren draw.

At Moi Stadium in Kisumu, Western Stima and Thika United shared the spoils after settling for a 1-1 draw.
