Luis Suarez celebrates a goal for Barcelona

The incoming manager's brother is the Barcelona striker's agent and the Blues have already been given encouragement a deal CAN be done at the right price

Pep Guardiola has made Luis Suarez his No 1 target for Manchester City.

Boss Guardiola is still five months away from officially taking charge at the Mancunian Blues, but he is already looking at how he can transform the squad he will inherit from Manuel Pellegrini.

He will sanction a raid on his former club Barcelona for former Liverpool star Suarez in the summer, even though it will take a fee in excess of £40million to land a player who will turn 30 next year.

Suarez is part of the Nou Camp holy trinity that includes Lionel Messi and Neymar, and is happy to be playing the best football of his career in La Liga.

But the striker is represented by Guardiola’s agent brother, Pere. And City have already been given encouragement that a deal can be done if the price is right.

Guardiola will be looking to lower the average age of the squad before next season kicks off, but he loves Suarez’s brilliant blend of technique and toil.

The new City boss will be given a blank cheque to build a team that will be able to impose his own unique brand of football on the Premier League.

Juventus’ Paul Pogba is another prime target – and the bidding for the French midfielder will start at £65m in the summer.

But it's Suarez who interests him the most, having spent three years in England with Liverpool
