Liverpool have confirmed the signing of young Brazilian midfielder Allan Rodrigues de Souza, report the Liverpool Echo.

The 18-year-old will join the Reds from Porto Alegre-based Internacional for a fee of around £500,000.

Allan trained with Brendan Rodgers’ squad at Melwood this week and was named in the squad for Saturday’s friendly with HJK Helsinki in Finland.

A club statement read: “LFC have secured Allan for the future and he’s currently spending time with the Reds with the permission of his club, Internacional.”

Allan impressed Liverpool coaches when he was spotted playing for Internacional in the Frenz International Cup in the Far East earlier this year.

He has joined up with fellow countrymen Philippe Coutinho, Roberto Firmino and Lucas Leiva in Rodgers’ squad.

Liverpool have already bolstered their youth ranks this summer with the signings of highly-rated Dutch winger Bobby Adekanye from Barcelona and Brooks Lennon from Real Salt Lake.
