Galatasaray head coach Hamza Hamzaoglu has withdrawn their interest in Robin van Persie, reports ESPN.

Just days after confirming his interest in the striker, Hamzaoglu has been forced to change his stance with regards to Van Persie, saying the club cannot afford to sign Robin van Persie from Manchester United.

"We want to sign players who will both improve the squad and excite our fans," Hamzaoglu told Fanatik on Wednesday.

"No manager would be able to say no to Van Persie. However, we cannot spend beyond our means. We hope to come to an agreement with him."

Robin van Persie who has one year remaining on his contract at Old Trafford, has also been linked with Italian clubs including Juventus and Inter Milan.
