Kenya national team head coach Bobby Williamson has retained the U23 squad that drew 1-1 with Egypt, in the return leg match of the All Africa Games qualifiers, for this Saturday’s international friendly match against visiting Seychelles.

The team will use the match as part of their preparations for next month’s two-legged African U23 qualifiers against Botswana.

Kenya will kick-off their campaign at home with a clash against the Zebras on April 24 before travelling to Gaborone for the return leg on May 8.

The winner will then battle with Ivory Coast for the final ticket slated for September 4-19 in Congo.

FC Talanta’s Andrew Murunga and Sony Sugar midfielder Amos Asembeka are the notable inclusion in the 20-man squad that reports to residential camp at Kasarani, today.

“Basically, what I intend to see is these players growing up together and clocking some experience ahead of the Botswana tie.

We felt that after the Egypt match, they should continue playing together so as to develop as a team,” Williamson told FeverPitc, yesterday.

Kenyan Premier League side Mathare United has been highly represented in the team, producing five players led by captain Robinson Kamure, goalkeeper Robert Mboya, defender Hillary Otieno and the midfield duo Vincent Odongo and Harrison Mwendwa.
