Six clubs from the South Korean Women’s League are threatening to revolt this week – because they believe the tournament’s top scorer is a man.
Seoul City striker Park Eun-Soen bagged 19 goals in 23 games last season, but instead of talking about her talent, gender is on the agenda.
Half-a-dozen of the league’s sides have written to the authorities demanding that Park is subjected to a gender test – to prove she is not man playing in the women’s game.
Seoul Sports Council, who governs the game, has turned down the request, but the league is now facing certain revolt over the issue.
The 26-year-old says she has been left ‘humiliated’ by the affair, but is vowing to carry on scoring goals.
