Guinness football contestants off to SA

A group of 16 Kenyans set off for on a 10-day trip to Johannesburg, South Africa, yesterday to participate in this year’s Guinness Football Challenge.?

The challenge, which will pit the Kenyans against contestants from four other African countries, will be aired on select television stations across Africa, with the first episode kicking off in Kenya in March.

The contestants were selected during the Guinness Football Challenge auditions held in Mombasa, Nakuru and Nairobi late last year.?

The Guinness Football Challenge is an exciting platform through which lovers of football get an opportunity to demonstrate their knowledge and passion for the world’s most favorite sport.

The popular TV game show, that has excited audiences across Africa for the past two years, is about to start filming the third series in which eight teams have been chosen to represent Kenya.???

Twenty teams from five countries will meet in South Africa to compete not only against their fellow countrymen, but also against other countries with the aim of claiming the Pan-African crown.??In what is promising to be an exciting show, our Kenyan contestants will have the chance to play for their country in the new Pan-African show, as they go head-to-head with contestants from Cameroon, Ghana, Tanzania and Uganda.

The Kenyan team consists of; Stephen Githinji and Michael Kirwa, Oscar Litonde and Daniel Mwania, Chris Mwangi and Kenneth Njoroge, Willis Ogutu and Kenneth Karanja, Samuel Papa and Jared Obayo, Awadh Mbarak and Donald Otieno, Kepha Kimani, Francis Ngigi, Gideon Odhiambo and Stephen Mwangi.
