Vihiga United revive survival hopes as Wazito beat Mathare

Vihiga United revived their survival hopes after defeating Western Stima 2-0 in a tight early-kickoff match played at ASK Showground in Nakuru on Sunday.
Wycliffe Nthata and Stewart Omondi scored in each half for Vihiga, who registered their fourth win of the campaign.
The victory saw Vihiga end their seven-match winless run and revived their survival hopes after moving to within a point of safety.
Vihiga are currently 15th with 20 points, a point behind Stima.
The win saw them move five points above bottom placed Mathare United.

In Mombasa, William Wadri scored in the 77th minute as Bandari narrowly edged out Posta Rangers in a tight match played at Mbaraki Stadium.
The win took Bandari level on points with defending champions Gor Mahia at 40 points.
The dockers leapfrogged Gor into sixth place courtesy of a superior goal difference but with the record Kenyan champions having a game in hand.
In Wundanyi, Kakamega Homeboyz fought from a goal down to defeat Sofapaka 2-1.
Sebastien Sunday gave Sofapaka a first half 1-0 lead after scoring in the 27th minute before Stephen Opoku restored parity for Homeboyz in the 50th minute.
Stephen Wakanya sealed all three points for Homeboyz in the 76th minute.
Despite the win, Homeboyz remained ninth with 37 points.
Back in Nakuru, second half substitute Dan Sunguti scored at the death to salvage a point for AFC Leopards who forced a 2-2 draw against Nzoia Sugar at ASK Showground.
Elvis Rupia had given Leopards a first half lead after scoring in the fifth minute before Nzoia Sugar hit back with quick second half goals that almost gave them the win.
Ibrahim Masha drew level the scores after netting in the 57th minute before Nzoia took an unexpected lead three minutes later after Hillary Simiyu converted a penalty past Benjamin Ochan in goal for Leopards.
Ingwe would, however, rally late to deny Nzoia a much deserved win with Sunguti netting in the 90th minute.
In Thika, Vincent Oburu scored a brace inside two minutes to inspire Wazito to a 2-1 win over bottom placed Mathare United.
