Omalla keen to help Gor win the league after returning home from Sweden

Harambee Stars U20 striker Benson Omalla has said his focus is to help his club Gor Mahia win the league after returning home from Sweden earlier this week.
Speaking with the Standard Sports via phone, Omalla said he is back after ending his six-month loan deal with Swedish Division One side FC Linkoping City.
“Yes! It is true I am back. I have read and heard a lot of stories told about my return but am calm and focused.”
“I have picked my lessons and Il will strategize on how well to build my football career. Right now I don’t want to talk about Sweden but focus with Gor,” he said.
Omalla, who joined Gor Mahia from Western Stima has already trained with the team for two days now since he landed back from Sweden.

He is keen on helping the team (Gor) achieve the best and targets to nail goals in the remaining matches if given playtime.
“I will keep working hard and I am keen on helping my team to do well. There are a good number of matches remaining in the season and my target is to score goals and help the team achieve the best,” Omalla told Gor Mahia media.
K’Ogalo head coach Manuel Vaz Pinto appreciated the potential of the young striker and says he is one player who can help the team achieve its target this season after welcoming Omalla back in the team.
“Benson is one player who can help the team achieve its goals. He is a player who has potential but needs to be inserted in a team that is different from what the player knows.”
“So, it needs some time but he can add different characteristics to the players we have for that position. There comes a time when we don’t have many options in his position but we need to assess how he is at this moment,” said Pinto.
The teenage sensation joined Gor Mahia during the 2020 August transfer window from Western Stima, where he had impressed.
He scored nine goals for Stima last season, including a hat trick against Zoo Kericho before the season was prematurely halted after the deadly coronavirus hit the country.
The Harambee Stars U20 striker became the youngest player to win the KPL Player of the Month Award after SJAK accorded him the award in December 2019.
