Mwanahalima nets five goals as Thika Queens win in an eleven-goal thriller

Mwanahalima Adam scored five goals as Thika Queens thrashed Zetech Sparks 7-4 in an eleven-goal thriller FKF Women’s Premier League match hosted at Thika Stadium on Saturday.

Cheris Salano netted the first goal for Thika Queens in the 13th minute, a lead which was short-lived after Winnie Gwatenda replied with an equalizer for Zetech Sparks three minutes later.

Yvonne Kavere’s goal in the 24th minute saw Zetech temporarily lead 2-1 before Harambee Starlets forward Mwanahalima Adam leveled the scores once again at the half hour mark.

Milika Awino scored four minutes before half time to give Zetech the lead again with a 3-2 score line at the break.

Upon resumption, Milika Awino completed her brace in the 57th minute to stretch Zetech lead to 4-2.

However, Thika Queens got fired up by Mwanahalima Adam netting two goals in quick succession in the 60th minute and 61st minute to complete her a hat-trick and tie the scores for the third time at 4-4.

Adam then proceeded to break the tie with her fourth goal of the match in the 66th minute before her counterpart Rachael Muema extended Thika’s advantage to 6-4 in the 72nd minute.

Mwanahalima Adam went on to seal the scores at 7-4 with her fifth goal in the 78th minute.

Elsewhere,Ulinzi Starlets has maintained their winning momentum after beating Kibera Soccer Ladies Academy 3-1 at the Stima grounds.

Captain Neddy Okoth gave Ulinzi Starlets the lead after she netted a goal in the 35th minute. However, Kibera Soccer Ladies equalized the scores following Laventine Lihamo’s goal two minutes before the half-time whistle was blown.

Two minutes after the breather, Siliya Rahosa put Ulinzi back in the lead as she shot past Kibera Soccer ladies Goalkeeper Pauline Muthakye to break the tie.

Lucy Mukhwana bagged the third goal for Ulinzi Starlets in the 56th minute with Kibera Soccer ladies several attempts to get an equalizer fell naught, sealing the win for Ulinzi Starlets at the sound of the final whistle.
