Sh1m boost for Gor Mahia ahead of CR Belouizdad CAF tie

Air Charter Company, 748 Air Services has donated Sh1 million to local football giant, Gor Mahia FC in support of their next Confederation of African Football (CAF) assignment against Algerian giants CR Belouizdad.

During the Cheque signing ceremony in Nairobi, 748 Air Services Chairman, Ahmed Jibril, a long-term supporter and fan of Gor Mahia FC wished the club the best in their next tournament and called on corporates, business organisations, and individuals to support the growth of local football clubs.

“I am very honoured and I would like to thank the leadership sincerely for giving me an opportunity to contribute in small way to a club that is a national heritage, an important club in our society and a club that we all ought to be associated with,” said Jibril.

The signing and hand over of the cheque was held at Mayfair plaza.

He added, “We all need. All of us, all businesses, organisations, and individuals should be able to be proud of and support our Kenyan teams and especially Gor Mahia, a household name and one of the country’s earliest clubs. We wish them all the best.”

K'ogalo is expected to jet out of the country for Algiers on December 20 at around 5 pm.

Gor Mahia chairman Ambrose Rachier expressed gratitude towards the donation saying it will support their expense out of the country over the next week.

 “We are extremely grateful to Ahmed Jibril and 748 air services for the generous donation of Sh1 million to Gor Mahia football club, this will go a long way in meeting our expenses while in Algiers playing the next Caf match which will hopefully leave on Sunday 20th and return on 26th, it will be useful to us,” said Rachier.
