Solskjaer provides update on Man United's Director of Football search

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has revealed talks over a director of football are still on-going at Manchester United.
Calls for United to hire a Sporting Director have surfaced again after a chaotic transfer window deadline day before the international break.
Even before that, Seville's highly-rated director of football Monchi criticised United for failing to have an expert in the role.
But Solskjaer has hit back saying: “There’s always people who want to talk about how well they’re running things and how well they’re doing.
“We’ve all got different views on how football should be played and how clubs should be run.

“We’ve got good people running our club and there’s always discussions behind the scenes, which people don’t know about, around how we’re doing things and evaluating everything.
“It’s a process the club is going through all the time, discussing if we’ve got the right people in the right positions.
“It’s not for me to say whether we should have a Director of Football.
“At the moment we’re working with this structure and I feel the results last season we’ve seen a big improvement, fans looked at us and said we’re moving in the right direction. Hopefully we can carry that on this season.”
Monchi, seen as one of the best Sporting Directors in the game, had said: “I can't believe a club like Manchester United does not have this particular position. It's essential.
“All club's should have one. When 60-70% of the budget is allocated to the first team, if you don't have a specialist who deals with it that is very difficult to understand.”
United sealed deals for 33-year-old striker Edinson Cavani, Porto full-back Alex Telles and young wingers Amad Diallo Traore and Facundo Pellistri in a flurry of last day activity.
But they came under fire for not landing Solskjaer's main target Jadon Sancho from Borussia Dortmund having had nine months to negotiate a deal with the German club who wanted £108 million for the 20-year-old forward.
