Luis Suarez's time at Barcelona could be up with Ronald Koeman deeming him surplus to requirements and David Beckham's Inter Miami are eyeing a lucrative move

Luis Suarez has held talks with David Beckham's Inter Miami after Barcelona put him up for sale.

The ambitious MLS outfit are hoping to add some star names this summer less than a year after entering the competition.

And the Uruguayan forward is on their radar and they believe they can lure him to the USA with a hefty pay packet.

New Barcelona boss Ronald Koeman has told the 33-year-old striker that he is not part of his plans at the Nou Camp ahead of what is expect to be a major overhaul.

Suarez wants to stay in Europe but could be tempted by a switch elsewhere if he cannot find a suitor with concerns over his knee issues, reports the Independent.

Beckham is taking a lead role in negotiations as he looks to put his Inter Miami side on the map.

Suarez's compatriot Edinson Cavani, who has left PSG following the expiration of his contract, is also on their radar.

Inter Miami have also held talks with Lionel Messi, who has informed Barcelona of his desire to leave, but that is with a view to a future move.

The Catalan club have placed the vast majority of their squad on the transfer list following their dismal season which ended with a humiliating European defeat to Bayern Munich.

Suarez though was not impressed at how the club went about their business as they publicly stated their plans before speaking to the player.

He told AS: “There has been talk of some names that the president suggested, changes that could be made, but nobody has told me that they want to get rid of me.

"If that is what the club wants it would be nice if the director responsible for these decisions spoke directly with me.

"It’s better than leaking if I’m one of the players they want to leave. We’ll see what happens."
