Leeds United owner speaks on Ibrahimovic, Cavani transfers

Leeds owner Andrea Radrizzani has all-but ruled out a move for Zlatan Ibrahimovic this summer but hinted the club could make an approach for Edinson Cavani.
The newly-crowned winners of the Championship held talks with Ibrahimovic earlier this year, while Cavani was also being considered as a potential signing.
Their promotion into the Premier League has opened up more doors where transfers are concerned, and the Leeds hierarchy is already eyeing up potential additions.
Ibrahimovic turned down the chance to join Leeds in January in favour of a move to AC Milan, but is now set to leave the Serie A outfit at the end of the season.
Asked by Football Italia whether signing the Swedish star was a possibility, Radriazzani replied: “Ibrahimovic will certainly be difficult.

“We tried to sign him in January, but he chose to join Milan and the deal vanished.
“Now I think it’s too late, the intensity of English football is different."
Indeed the 38-year-old could hang up his boots altogether, with reports suggesting his most likely destination - should he wish to play on - is a season's finale at Swedish club Hammarby, whom the striker co-owns.
His former PSG teammate Cavani is still on the market though, and is yet to seal a move elsewhere.
The free agent left PSG at the end of last month when his contract expired, and Leeds could attempt a shock swoop for his services.
Atletico Madrid have been linked with the 33-year-old previously, but the lure of playing in the Premier League would represent an attractive option for Cavani.
However, any deal would be dependent on the Leeds board getting the seal of approval from boss Marcelo Bielsa.
Radrizanni said: “In addition to his quality, Cavani could contribute with his physicality and adapt here, but I’ve never talked about him with the coach.
“Having said that, we’ve certainly thought about him and we’ll see, given he’s still available on a free transfer.”
