WWE star Rey Mysterio unmasks to pose for photo as he celebrates wife's birthday

WWE legend Rey Mysterio has posted a photo of himself and his wife without his iconic mask.

One of the greatest high-flyers to enter the ring, Mysterio and his mask came hand in hand.

You have to go back to the now 45-year-old's WCW days to catch a glimpse of his face.

Current stars Seth Rollins and Andrade have both attempted to reveal his true identity in recent times.

But Mysterio has shown fans his face as he shared a snap of himself and his wife Angie Gutierrez on Instagram.

He posted to celebrate her birthday with the caption, which was posted in Spanish: “I love you with all my heart my love and I thank God for blessing you with one more year of life and health at my side.

Never change your way of being because I love it so much that you make me smile because of how spontaneous you always are!”

The couple live in a £1m mansion, that includes five bedrooms and five bathrooms, in San Diego.

Mysterio will take on Rollins at the Extreme Rules pay-per-view in a one of a kind Eye For An Eye match.

The Mexican, who made his professional wrestling debut in 1989, has held a host of belts in the WWE.

He is a two-time World Heavyweight champion, four-time United States champion and two-time Intercontinental champion.

Mysterio also won the Royal Rumble in 2006.

The wrestling gene is the family also looks to have been passed down with his son Dominik poised for a career in the ring.

He told  Metro : “Any time that he feels like he needs to compare his work to mine – that’s one of the first words of advice that I gave him.

“He needs to create his own legacy, he doesn’t need to try and imitate mine. He understands that.”
