Kenya Premier League (KPL) side, Nzoia Sugar FC, were handed a new team bus by President Uhuru Kenyatta on Wednesday.

President Uhuru handed over the brand new 52-seater bus to Nzoia Sugar Company Chairman Joash Wamang'oli.

The bus will be used by the club for their sporting engagements. The President also donated Sh2 million to the Bungoma based football team.

Nzoia Sugar Chairman Evans Kadenge, son of the late Joe Kadenge, thanked the Head of State and assured the team will produce better performances in the new KPL season expected to kick off in August.

The team had accumulated 13 points after 22 matches before the coronavirus pandemic disrupted sporting activities worldwide.

"We are on the road going back to Bungoma after His Excellency President Uhuru Kenyatta handed us our new team bus.

“He has also chipped in and handed the team Sh2 million which we shall decide on how to hand it to players and the technical bench,” said Kadenge.

“We thank him for this kind gesture and have assured him that the team will do better on the pitch.

"The president has even driven us around town in our new bus and this signals a new dawn for Nzoia, who will be leading as other teams follow,” Kadenge added.

We are coming home with our bus.
