Alexis Sanchez, Chris Smalling to stay in Italy for the rest of the season

Manchester United pair Chris Smalling and Alexis Sanchez will both stay in Italy with AS Roma and Inter Milan respectively for the rest of the season.

Man United made the announcement on Wednesday, July 1 on their website, conforming the duo will see out the 2019/20 campaign in the Serie A, where they had been loaned out.

Smalling, who joined Man United a decade ago has featured 30 times for Paulo Fonseca’s side this season, with Sanchez making 19 appearances under Antonio Conte.

Manchester United pair Chris Smalling and Alexis Sanchez will both see out the remainder of the 2019/20 domestic campaign in Italy, after the decision was made to extend their loan contracts with Roma and Inter Milan respectively.

“Smalling will stay at the Stadio Olimpico for the rest of the Serie A season, which is currently scheduled to last until the beginning of August, due to the effects of the COVID-19 pandemic. Alexis's deal at Inter Milan has also been extended until the end of the first week of next month,” said Man United.
