I did not bring coronavirus! Emmanuel Adebayor refuses to donate to his home country

Ex-Arsenal, Manchester City, Real Madrid and Tottenham forward Emmanuel Adebayor has faced online backlash from football fans after he said that he will not make any donations towards Togo's fight against coronavirus.
The backlash comes after his fellow African footballers including Victor Wanyama and Samuel Eto’o stepped up to help their countries fight against COVID-19.
The 36 year-old is currently stuck in quarantine in Benin over the coronavirus pandemic, according to his Paraguayan Club Olimpia.
As per Celebrity Net Worth, Emmanuel Adebayor has a net worth $45 million dollars.
And according to the Sun, Adebayor is not apologetic about his statement, saying he will do with his money what he chooses adding that he did not bring the virus to Togo.

“I always do things according to the wishes of my heart and not according to the words of others,” he said in a live video on his official Facebook page on Thursday.
“I’m sorry that people compare me to Samuel Eto’o and Didier Drogba by asking me why I don’t have a foundation or why I don’t donate, as if I was the one who brought the coronavirus to Togo.”
According to him, “I am neither the one nor the other, I am me, Seyi Emmanuel Adebayor. A word of advice for the guys regarding donations, I will not do that. Everything is clear and very simple. Thank you and good day.”
However, in an interview with Goal.com, Adebayor defended his refusal to donate to his country, Togo, in the fight against COVID-19.
"I'm sorry that people compare me to Eto'o and Drogba by asking why I don't have a foundation or donate, as if I brought coronavirus to Togo. A word of advice for the guys regarding donations, I won't do that. Everything is clear and simple. Thank you and good day," the Togo international said.
Adebayor, who also played for Arsenal, Tottenham and Crystal Palace during a decade-long stay in the English Premier League, made a surprise move to the Paraguayan champion in February having left Turks Kayserispor in December.
