Wazito and Kisumu All Stars promoted to KPL

Wazito are the 2019 National Super League (NSL) champions.
The Fred Ambani-coached side capped a remarkable season in which they have simply been unrivaled by thrashing St Joseph youth 7-1 at Camp Toyoyo on Sunday to seal an immediate return to the SportPesa Premier League.
Joe Waithira scored a hat-trick before Amos Asembeka added a brace with Paul Acqua and Derrick Onyango also on the score sheet to finish top with 81 points.
Wazito were relegated from the top tier last season and a return to the top flight league has been met with pure joy and happiness as Ambani congratulated his boys for a well performed season.
“Congratulations to the boys for getting the team back to the premier league and winning the title. The season has been a tough one and to finish on top is all because of the hard work,” he said.

He added, “We can now celebrate and enjoy the success of the season as we wait for the big league to resume.”
In Thika, Kisumu All Stars whipped former premier league side Thika United 7-1 in the second eight goal thriller of the day to take the second automatic qualification spot.
Eric Otieno and Ian Motanda scored a brace each with Moses Odhiambo and Alvin Ochieng adding the fifth and sixth to seal their first ever premier league promotion.
“This was unexpected. To score seven goals in our last match is a massive step to the team as we celebrate towards making it to the premier league under the first two years of the club’s history,” the former AFC Leopards player said.
Nairobi Stima also signed off in style with a 4-2 win over Eldoret Youth, which was however not enough to dethrone Kisumu All Stars.
The Blue Eagles finished second with 80 points, same as Stima but with the lakeside team having a superior goal difference.
“Congratulations to everyone for the hard work and resilience that saw us overcome one of the hardest seasons. For now we celebrate as we wait for the new adventure in the premier league,” Kisumu All Stars captain Bobby Kwaka.
Elsewhere, Thika United, Kangemi All Stars and Green Commandos have all been relegated to the lower division after all finishing in the bottom three with less than 30 points.
