Manchester United manager Jose Mourinho walked out of his press conference pre-maturely, after he was bombarded with questions he considered unnecessary. Mourinho was addressing British media ahead of their midweek clash with Bournemouth at Old Trafford on Wednesday.

One journalist asked the Portuguese coach about what transpired shortly after they played their rivals Manchester City, where reports emerged that a bust up between him, his players and City players ensued.

When talking to UK-based media about the burst up with league leaders, Mourinho said:

“The only thing I can say is that, for me, it was just a question of diversity. Diversity in behaviour, diversity in education. Just that. And nothing more than that. The diversity of behaviour, of opinion, of education. What we did in the Arsenal stadium, you know? It was completely diverse. What we did, what happened after that match, the way we behaved as winners.”

Mourinho stated that he would not talk about the incident and he insisted that he was focused on the next game. He took a thinly veiled swipe against the journalists for what he termed as lacking respect for their opponents Bournemouth. He accused the journalists of dwelling on discussing the Old Trafford brawl rather than talking about the game.

“Bye-bye. You don’t like Bournemouth? You don’t respect them? You don’t think they are a team capable of coming to Old Trafford and doing well? No respect for Eddie Howe? No respect for the players?” He said as he left the press conference.

Manchester United is second in the Epl log but has fallen to 11 points behind Manchester City after the 2-1 defeat at Old Trafford over the weekend. The Red Devils will be looking forward to bounce back by grabbing a win against Bournemouth at Old Trafford tonight.
