Manchester City are preparing to use defender Jason Denayer as bait in their bid to lure Alexis Sanchez to the Etihad from Arsenal.

That is according to The Sun, who say Pep Guardiola is leading the race for the £50million-rated Chilean.

Sanchez is yet to put pen to paper on fresh terms at the Emirates and his contract expires at the end of next season.

Arsenal have previously been interested in Belgian international Denayer, 21, who has suffered an injury-hit campaign on loan at relegated Sunderland this season.
