The Kenyan Premier League will kick off on March 4. The kick-off will be preceded by the DSTV Super Cup between Tusker and Gor Mahia on February 25.

According to KPL Chief Executive Jack Oguda they are currently reworking on the fixtures to reflect a ruling made at the Sports Tribunal last Friday.

“The DSTV Super Cup will kick off the new season for us on February 25. We are currently re-working on the fixtures which should be ready by end of the week,” he said.

The fixtures will exclude four teams KCB, Vihiga United, Sofapaka and Muhoroni Youth. The Sports Tribunal has to make a ruling on the fate of the four teams before two of them can be allowed to take part in the league.

The hearing for the case will be heard on March 2 and a decision is not expected until mid-March and by this time the 16 teams will have played at least three matches each. Sofapaka and Muhoroni are disputing their exclusion from the top tier league after they failed to get a licence.
