FKF LEAGUE: Changamwe United promoted to Division 1

Changamwe United have been promoted to the FKF Division One League after they won the national Division Two Northern Zone mini-league at Ronald Ngala ground in Mombasa, yesterday.

The victors join Coast Stima and Malindi’s Magarini FC in the Division One league. Goalkeeper Stephen Maloba stretched full length to save a penalty to enable Changamwe United beat Supa Matuga of Kwale County 8-7 on post-match penalties. Both teams battled to a barren draw during regulation time.
Changamwe converted their spot kicks through Richard Ndambuki, Harun Mutisya, Alfred Kitaka, Michael Ochieng, Jeremiah Masila, Douglas Ademba, and Philip Otieno as Kevin Ademba had his saved by Matuga keeper Abdalla Bwika.
Hamisi Mwaphalu, Abdalla Mdeka, Omar Msada, Steven Nyawa, Omar Mwandaru and Zackaria Mwakisua scored their penalties for Supa Matuga while Ibrahim Mwahanga’s shot hit the wood work and Omar Kunemwa’s shot was blocked by Maloba.
