Gerrard Pique has made a shocking revelation that he will retire from international football after the 2018 World Cup, according to The Sun.

The Barcelona superstar confirmed his decision after Spain’s 2-0 World Cup qualifying win over Albania.

“The World Cup in Russia will be my last competition for Spain.”

“I’ve thought about it a lot. It’s not in the heat of the moment, I’ve thought long and hard about it and I feel this way.”

Piqué has represented Spain several years, making his debut on 11 February 2009. He played an integral role in the Spain team that won the 2010 FIFA World Cup and UEFA Euro 2012.
