Claudio Ranieri is refusing to give up on keeping hold of Jamie Vardy.

Leicester’s England striker is weighing up his future after Arsenal activated his £20m release clause.

The Gunners have also offered Vardy a three-year, £120,000-a-week deal with the option of an extra year.

The champions have responded with a new bumper contract offer of their own in a last-ditch bid to retain Vardy who bagged 24 goals to help fire the Foxes to the title.

Vardy is planning to reveal his answer after the Euros.

Leicester boss Ranieri said: “We want to keep him, Arsenal have said they will pay the full release clause, but he hasn’t accepted yet. He gets the last word.”
