Arsenal is ready to rival Manchester United in the race to take highly-rated Benfica youngster Renato Sanches.

The 18-year-old has been linked with a move to the Premier League giants throughout the season, and could make the switch in the summer.

Any deal is expected to be worth in the region of around £46million, and Louis van Gaal is unconcerned that United's failure to secure Champions League football could scupper the transfer, according to the ="http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/football/article-3531758/Louis-van-Gaal-insists-Manchester-United-won-t-miss-best-players-finish-outside-four-says-pay-big-land-world-s-stars.html?ITO=1490&ns_mchannel=rss&ns_campaign=1490">Daily Mail.<

Defeat at Tottenham on Sunday left the Red Devils four points behind Manchester City in the race for the top four.
