Manchester United have received another boost in the race to sign Sergio Ramos, according to AS, via Radio Cadena Ser.

It has been reported that Real Madrid are reluctant to offer Ramos his desired £135-a-week contract extension - with Ramos getting frustrated with negotiations.

It was thought that Ramos was going to be used as part of the deal for David De Gea at first, but the two deals appear to have gone in different directions.

United are still believed to be targeting a big name centre-back ahead of the new campaign.
