Cocktail Bar: Frontier Whiskey Sour

Another Friday another cocktail and today we are making the tantalizing Frontier Whiskey Sour

Ingredients:

60ml Bulleit Bourbon Whiskey

30ml Homemade Vanilla & Orange Syrup

30ml Fresh lemon juice

3 Dashes Angostura bitters

15ml Aqua faba

Procedure:

In a cocktail shaker 3/4 full with ice, pour in Bulleit Bourbon Whiskey, Homemade vanilla & orange syrup, Fresh lemon juice and Angostura bitters then shake vigorously for 15 secs.

Strain all the contents into an old-fashioned whisky glass full of fresh ice.

Garnish with a fresh orange zest twist.

Serve and enjoy.

HOW TO MAKE THE HOMEMADE VANILLA AND ORANGE SYRUP.

2 whole orange (Grate the zest)

2 dry vanilla pods (scrap out the seeds)

2 cinnamon sticks (2inches)

1 cup caster sugar

1 cup water

PROCEDURE.

Place all the ingredients in a saucepan.

Cook on low heat for 10 minutes, ensure to keep stirring gently until the sugar is fully dissolved.

Place aside to cool then using a fine strain or a cheesecloth, filter the new liquid.

Store in a sanitized air-tight jar then refrigerate.

This vanilla & orange forward syrup can last fresh for a week.

NON - ALCOHOLIC VERSION (MOCKTAIL.)

90ml Homemade orange & vanilla Syrup

90ml Fresh lemon juice

3 dashes Angostura bitters

15ml Aqua faba

Shake / Stir all content well then pour into a highball glass

Top up with your favourite mixer, preferably soda water or sparkling water.
