Making meals from scratch might start to resemble an unpaid second job, which is something that most working people can relate to.

It is difficult to work all day and then spend an additional hour or two at home preparing a whole meal that you will eat in probably under five minutes.

And that's where quick meals like sandwiches come in; not only are they quick and simple to make, but they are also unbelievably tasty.

Check out this easy recipe if you're wondering how to spruce up your sandwich for any meal of the day:

Prep time: 10 minutes.

What you need:

Bread

Slice of cheddar cheese

Ham or bacon

Sliced tomatoes

Sliced onion

Lettuce

Butter or margarine

Mayonnaise

A toaster

Method:

When putting together a club sandwich, the layering is what you should pay the most attention to. First, apply some mayonnaise to the bread before adding your ham or bacon to prevent the bread from becoming soggy.

Next, add your tomato and onion slices, followed by a slice of cheese, and finally, top with lettuce.

Put some butter or margarine on the top slice of bread and toss the entire layered sandwich in the toaster.

Your club sandwich will be ready when it is golden brown, which should take about 3 minutes. Enjoy!
