Kenyan gospel singer Size 8 shocked her followers on Thursday when she announced the end of her 11-year marriage to DJ Mo.

Through her instastories, the singer said sometimes marriage does not work and she is now ready to start the journey of singlehood.

"Sometimes marriage works by God's grace and sometimes it does not work but all in all God is still on the throne!!!

"I've been married for 11 years and now I start the journey of singlehood...but God is still on the throne, I worship you, Yahweh," she wrote.

Online, the post sparked mixed reactions from her followers, some warning her against using her marriage to chase clout.

It has been a common trend among celebrities to make such announcements to be the talk of town then later retract their statements or launch shows and music videos.

"Marriage is divine and some of us admires marriage because of some of you people,,,if it's clout may it be from your mouth to God's ears and if not may you find peace," wrote another.

"Tafta Kiki na hio marriage yako Kabisa itaisha siku moja sijui utasema nini," added another.

One even asked her whether clout chasing is allowed in the Bible.
