Kisii singer and event MC Miggy Champ recently shared the stage with Alaine, Rotimi, Gramps Morgan, and other global stars at the just concluded Bayfront Reggae and World Music Festival in Minnesota, USA.

Miggy, who had his hour of fame on the renowned stage, said he has charted a new course for Kenyan artists.

"I believe I'm the finest Kenyan artiste to perform at Bayfront Reggae and World Music Festival," he said, speaking from Minnesota.

The show, in its 18th year, was synonymous with the Kenyan flag, almost making it a Kenyan diaspora fest.

"Kenya never disappoints, but many people from all over the world turned up... From Jamaica, Nigeria, Uganda, Liberia, St. Lucia, and many more," Miggy added.

On the flip side, he also mentioned that works are underway for a possible collaboration with one of Jamaica's finest musical exports, Alaine.

This unexpected pairing promises to be a fusion of East African and Caribbean rhythms, creating a unique sound that will captivate audiences worldwide.

Recently, Miggy has been making inroads in the diaspora, making an annual pilgrimage to the States, where there is a considerable Kisii population.

"We are in a global village where music travels faster than the speed of light, especially now that African music is being received more in the diaspora. You can easily get business opportunities," says the performer, who has also entertained crowds in the UAE and South Africa.
