Nigerian man Babajide Isreal Adebanjo has been officially recognised by Guinness World Records for the longest twerking duration by an individual.

Adebanjo twerked for an impressive three hours and thirty minutes on January 14th, 2024.

Guinness World Records recently announced his achievement on their website.

According to Guinness World Records, Adebanjo's attempt was "a way for him to get out of his comfort zone and to raise awareness for anyone suffering from depression all around the world."

They added that Adebanjo's message is "no record is too crazy, too big, too great, or too little to achieve. There is always space for everyone and their unique attributes."

This record surpasses the previous record of two hours and one minute set by Elena Sofie Sterlini from Austria in Januiary last year.

Adebanjo shared his excitement on social media, posting a video of his certificate and thanking his team and supporters.

"We are beyond thrilled to announce that our record-breaking achievement has been officially recognised by Guinness World Records! Although we missed the congratulatory email on the day it was approved, we're making up for it now with a big shoutout to our amazing team and supporters! We're incredibly proud to have set a new standard in twerking, and we couldn't have done it without your energy, enthusiasm, and support," he wrote.
