We are coming for you: Makokha's warning to thief who stole his phone at Njambi's burial

Makokha reportedly lost his phone at Njambi Koikai's burial.

Days after radio personality Njambi Koikai was laid to rest at Lang'ata Cemetery, actor Matayo Keya, popularly known as Makokha took to social media to lament about losing his phone, warning the thief that their days were numbered.

Makokha said he lost his phone during the funeral but was hot on the trail of the suspect and they would be brought to book.

"Unajifanya we ndio unajua sana lakini tumekukemba mtu wangu! Ikiwa ulinimangia tenje yangu my friend, we huna bahati. Huna bahati sana. Lakini pia sisi ni geng au sio? Ni vile tu, sawa? Kaa rada jo cause tunakukamia. Na sii tafadhali. Au sio. Wazi mbwegze! (Woe unto you if you stole my phone...stay alert because we are coming for you.)

Njambi's funeral turned chaotic after a section of youth demanded to be slotted in the day's proceedings to see off 'one of their own'.

Belting out some popular reggae tunes, the crowd demanded to pay their last respects, some visibly intoxicated.

A melee ensued when Njambi's casket was being taken to the gravesite and in the process, some of the mourners lost their valuables.

Njambi died a fortnight ago after a long battle with endometriosis and friends and family remembered her as a gentle soul who loved to experience life in its totality.

Former radio host Larry Asego said the deceased introduced him to reggae concerts and he slowly warmed up to reggae music as a result.

Njambi loses father

Njambi's father Daniel Koikai, passed away in unclear circumstances just hours after issuing a heartfelt apology to his deceased daughter

On Thursday, during Njambi's requiem service at Nairobi Chapel, Mr. Koikai expressed deep remorse for not being fully present in her life.

Reflecting on their relationship, he recounted their shared good and bad times.

"When times were good, we would go shopping and have lunches at some of the restaurants in town," he said. "I really miss the good times we shared together. When times were bad, we would go for days and months without talking, for which I will blame myself and will always do so as I've lost the opportunity to mend fences with you."

Mr. Koikai also shared the last message Njambi sent him on June 2, 2024, in which she asked for juice.

The message read: "Hi Dad, I hope you got home safely. So I would need red berry orange water from Del Monte and fresh orange and passion fruit juice. The doctors are here, so I'll have to go and we'll talk tomorrow. It was good to see you and reconnect."

Tragically, they did not see each other again after this message.
