Raina Nancy Chassagne, the wife of rapper Tory Lanez, has filed for divorce after a brief marriage.

Chassagne, 29, cited irreconcilable differences in court documents obtained by a publication on Monday, June 10th.

According to People, the couple were married on June 25th, 2023, and separated just one year later on June 1st, 2024.

Chassagne is seeking legal and physical custody of their 7-year-old son, Kai'lon.

This news comes as Lanez, whose real name is Daystar Shemuel Shua Peterson, is currently serving a 10-year prison sentence for shooting fellow rapper Megan Thee Stallion (real name Megan Pete) in the feet in 2020.

The shooting occurred in the Hollywood Hills following a dispute.

Megan Thee Stallion, 29, has spoken out about the lasting trauma she has endured as a result of the incident.

In a statement read by a Los Angeles County Deputy District Attorney, Megan described her struggles with being present and the fear she experiences.

"I cannot bring myself back to being in the same room with Tory," she wrote.

She went on to accuse Lanez of manipulating public perception and exploiting his past to excuse his actions.

"He paid bloggers to disseminate false information, he treated my trauma like a joke when I could've been dead," she stated.

The shooting happened on July 12th, 2020, after an argument involving Lanez, Megan Thee Stallion, and her former assistant Kelsey Harris. The disagreement reportedly began after a pool party at Kylie Jenner's home in Los Angeles.

Lanez was denied bail in September 2023 due to his history of violating court orders and the judge characterized the shooting as a "violent felony."
