Welcome to Kenya where some celebrities use clout chasing to fuel their content regardless of the context.

Former gospel musician Bahati has become the talk of the town after a post on his Instagram page hinted that he had broken up with his wife, Diana Marua.

This did not come as a shock to Kenyans, as he had pulled this stunt before. In the post, he shared an old photograph of his wife with a former footballer and captioned it with a "Heart Break" emoji.

The 'Mtoto wa mama' sensation then added another post 14 hours later, featuring a picture of his baby mama, Yvette Obura, and their beautiful daughter, Faith Mueni, dressed in her graduation gown as she entered grade one.

In the caption, he stated, "I wish I knew," followed by a sad emoji. This caused an uproar on social media, as most netizens believed they were using this as an excuse to market themselves or clout chase.

Some netizens went ahead and commented that he should just release the song he was working on with these unconfirmed allegations.

@Nicki BigFish wrote, "Umesema tupatane YouTube saa ngapi."

@Beaty1881 commented, "Hata kama ni clout chasing, this is an expensive one bro."

Opinions were divided. Some netizens believed the story was real and that the couple was contemplating breaking up.

Nonetheless, neither of them had confirmed the truth about the whole situation, leaving people to spiral with their imaginations.

In fact, a string of comments from celebrities provided some insight into what might be going on. Under the post where Diana Marua was with another man on Bahati's Instagram page, Nominated Senator Karen Nyamu commented: @karenzonyamu: "I knew Bahati would find out. She has been hanging out with the guy at the gym."

Other celebrities like Krg the Don and Brown Mauzo, the ex-husband of socialite Vera Sidika, took to the internet to support Bahati in their own ways.

@brownmauzo254 wrote, "Sending lots of love to the Bahati's as they navigate through this trying moment. They are my epitome of success in the current marriage life. Let's pray for the B's."

@krgthedon commented, "I told you Bahati ukiona mimi najikalisha mimi sio mjinga."

The couple had even unfollowed each other on Instagram, but this was not enough proof that they had separated. His wife, Diana, had not spoken on the matter yet. Just like most netizens and their fans, everyone awaited the 'big reveal'.
