Embakasi East MP Babu Owino on Tuesday, April 9, 2024, heaped praise on his wife Fridah Ongili as she turned a year older.

The lawmaker described Fridah as the light of his life, saying he is lucky to have her as a life partner.

"As you gracefully add another year to your life's journey, I want you to know how much you mean to me. Your love, support, and unwavering presence in my life have been a source of strength and happiness beyond measure.

"You are not only my wife but also my confidante, my rock, and my greatest blessing," wrote Babu.

He also reminisced about their beautiful moments, promising more going forward.

"Thank you for being the incredible person that you are and for sharing your life with me. I am grateful for every moment we have spent together and look forward to creating many more beautiful memories in the years ahead," he added.

Babu interviews his wife

Two years ago, the legislator interviewed his wife in a rather unique sitting.

Describing it as a 'rare opportunity' Babu sat down with Fridah, asking her about her upbringing and educational background.

She spoke about her school life after Babu put her on the spot, asking about her performances in KCPE and KCSE.

"I got 443 out of 500 marks then I joined Loreto Limuru where I scored an A-minus in my KCSE. I later joined the University of Nairobi where I pursued a Bachelor of Economics alongside an accounting (CPA) and a business management course," she said.

After her internship, Fridah was employed at a local bank but her passion was elsewhere and that is how she started her entrepreneurship journey.

"I decided to pursue my passion which is fashion and that is how I started my fashion brand.

"I loved to draw and design even in high school but after joining employment I decided to revert to what I love," she said.

Fridah, whose fashion brand mainly focuses on women and accessories, said it is not just about being beautiful on the outside but also on the inside.

She added that she endeavours to be a 'Proverbs 31 woman...clothed with strength and dignity.'
