US-based Kenyan content creator, Bernice Saroni, recently shared a video on TikTok, which stirred mixed reactions among netizens as she spoke with her son about his absent father.

The video captured Saroni's son in tears as he admitted not remembering his father's face.

When Saroni asked her son how he feels when he sees other kids in school with their dads, he tearfully said, "I feel sad. I didn't know my dad before. He may look different because it's been a long time."

The video spurred reactions from netizens, including Mugithi singer Samidoh's estranged wife, Edday Nderitu.

In response to the emotional video, Edday wrote, "This is very sad. This is what men make their kids feel. May all deadbeats never know peace. Hugs, baby boy."

Edday Nderitu, currently in the US, documented her journey with photos of her arrival in Boston on May 2, 2023, where she was welcomed by her friend Bernice Saroni.

Two months later, Edday publicly announced her decision to remove herself and her children from a toxic environment.

Addressing misconceptions online, Edday clarified that she was not in a polygamous marriage and had left her husband Samidoh, to whoever needed him more.

She stated that her teenage daughter had been affected by the situation and that she had managed to support her children's needs without assistance.

"I am not in any polygamous marriage as stated I left the husband for whoever needed him more. I decided to remove myself and my kids from that toxic environment especially my teen daughter who unfortunately is the direct recipient of unbelievable behaviour displayed ...I have managed to sustain my kids' needs so far with no help and I am not regretting any bit of it," wrote Edday on her Facebook.

She added: "About communication and video calls, I will leave that one there since some people seem to be present when that is happening but I'm not aware. In this new season of my life, I don't need any drama, I need peace only, I hope next episode of this series my name will be left out."
