Zari Hassan and Shakib Cham Lutaaya have recently shared insights into their life changes following a spiritual journey to Mecca.

The couple, who married in a vibrant white wedding in South Africa on October 3, 2023, went on this journey amidst social media drama.

"You know me and my husband, we went to UMRA, it was so nice. It was so life-changing," Zari stated during a press conference.

Zari, already a mother of five, also discussed their future plans for expanding their family.

"Inshallah, we are looking forward to having a child, Inshallah maybe two, but we are trying for one," she said.

Zari has two children with musician Diamond Platnumz and three with the late Ivan Semwanga.

Initially, Zari's children were hesitant to accept Shakib, but they have since warmed up to him after seeing their mother's happiness.

"My children did not approve of my relationship with Shakib but after witnessing how close we were and happy, they asked him to ensure that he takes good care of me," said Zari.

This isn't the first time Zari has expressed her desire for a larger family. In a previous interview with Ugandan media, she mentioned her intention to have "children galore" with Shakib.

"For real I want to have 10 kids because I come from a big African family you know. I know you will ask why are you stuck in that era but I grew up in big families and it was beautiful growing up in big families that's why I think I always wanted 10 kids," she said

Adding; "So if people want to know 'are you gonna have kids with Shakib?' Yes, yeah. Am I going to carry the kids? Yes. Are you going surrogate? Yes. Is there another option 3? Yes we are going to have kids."

Zari and Shakib's union was formalized in a simple Muslim wedding ceremony at a house in April 2023, followed by their white wedding celebration.
