Billie Eilish becomes youngest person to win two Oscars at 22

Billie Eilish, at 22 years old, has made history by winning her second Oscar, making her the youngest person to do so.

She achieved this milestone during Sunday night's ceremony, alongside her brother Finneas O'Connell, by winning the Best Song category for their work "What Was I Made For?" featured in Greta Gerwig's film, "Barbie."

During her acceptance speech, Billie expressed her gratitude towards Gerwig, saying, "Greta, I love you. Thank you for this. I'm grateful for this song, and this movie, and the way that it made me feel. This goes out to everyone who was affected by the movie and how incredible it is," as reported by Elle.

The sibling duo had previously won an Oscar for Best Original Song in 2021 for "No Time to Die," a track from the James Bond film starring Daniel Craig.

Billie breaking the record for being the youngest to win two Oscars beats the old record set 87 years ago by Luise Rainer, who was 28 when she got her second Oscar.

Billie was nominated for her song from "Barbie," which was performed during the Oscar ceremony.

Another song from "Barbie," "I'm Just Ken," written by Mark Ronson and Andrew Wyatt, was also in contention the same night.

Billie Eilish and Finneas O'Connell are not new to accolades; they have previously secured awards at the Grammys and Golden Globes, as well as a Society of Composers and Lyricists award for "What Was I Made For?"

The song has also achieved significant success, amassing 633 million streams.
