Richie G has been making waves in the Kenyan music industry with his creative and innovative approach to music production.

The affable singer/video director has been privileged to work with various artists as an artist and as a producer; as an artiste he did a song with Naiboi called "Agenda".

As a music producer he has produced a few audios for King Kaka, Femi One, and as a video director he has done videos for Guardian Angel, Oga Obinna, Jimmy Gait, Kelele Takatifu and many other celebrated artistes.

He is passionate about creating unique sounds and visuals. Richie has made himself one of the most sought-after video directors in Nairobi and has bagged a couple of awards including the Pulse Music Video Award for Director of the Year.

With a wealth of experience and knowledge, he has always been able to create stunning visuals and captivating soundscapes that bring projects to life.

Whether a music video, commercial, or documentary, he has proven this is his forte and does an equivocally amazing job. Although he was born and raised in Nairobi, his family moved to Kisumu when their mother was transferred to Maseno University where they stayed for years before coming back.

"I was pretty young when my mum was transferred to Maseno University but we eventually came back when I was in Standard Seven," he says.

Nairobi, a city known for its hustle and bustle, is sometimes not the place for the faint-hearted.

From pickpocketing on the streets to more organised crime, theft has more often than not been a normal occurrence.

When Richie came back he was advised that Nairobi was a dangerous place. "I was advised to treat everyone in Nairobi with suspicion so as to be safe. This meant I was always aware of my surroundings and didn't trust anyone at all," he says.

This went on for a while to the point that he got himself a girlfriend but still didn't trust she wasn't a thief either.

"I was then in Standard Eight when I got my first girlfriend, the vibe was all cool and chill but back in my mind nlikuwa naona tu anaweza nipora mbaya."
