Since she burst into the limelight about two years ago, rapper Sylvia Saru aka Ssaru has been the talk of town and is now being tipped as the next big thing in Kenya’s rap world.

The Kayole-born bubbly rapper has been cutting her own niche beyond the Gengetone world as she wades her way into mainstream media. Her latest hit, Swagger, presents her new polished image and it’s no doubt everyone is now seeking to have her perform in concerts and clubs. Her big break is almost here, we can bet.

Come Sunday, the Dhudha rapper joins accomplished deejay DJ Redbone at the Tunnel on Mombasa Road for a fun night that is sure to be one of the biggest attractions in Nairobi this weekend. “Wagwan my good people! It’s about to go down with proper tunes and vibes @thetunnel_ke. This Sunday issa plan,” Ssaru updated on her Instagram page.

It is not only Ssaru who is getting peeps bouncing to the beat this weekend. Tonight, October 23, Genge finest Mejja and Femi One team up with DJ Tibz and Brian Black at Moran Lounge, Nairobi, where they will be thrilling party-lovers.  “This Friday! Pull up na squad,” Femi One, whose new song Kipetero Kiyesu featuring Nviiri, released two weeks ago has drawn mixed reactions from industry players, updated. 

Femi One has been on an upward trajectory in the last two years with her biggest game coming into play after the release of her Utawezana Mejja collabo that was followed by Form Today, a song in which she features Kagwe Mungai – two hot numbers she has released this year. Still today, the popular Whiskey River Lounge on Kiambu Road will be hosting deejays Emprik and Prince with Teeboy doing the music mastery.

Yours Truly, DJ Crème de la Crème heads to Pavilion Lounge in Ketengela as Nick Dee Dee chills at The Garage on Thika Road. Not one to be left out, DJ Mfalme will take it up from where Crème de la Crème will have left it at, at Pavilion tomorrow night as Pierra Makena heads to Galileos.
