Kenya Air Force has donated bulldog aircraft to Moi Forces Academy, Nairobi, to boost training of aviation students.

Brigadier Samwel Kipkorir led a delegation of Kenya Air Force personnel to donate the bulldog aircraft to the school according to a statement from the Ministry of Defence (MoD).

"The aircraft will be used as an educational aid to aviation students at Moi Forces Academy. Aviation training at the high school level is uncommon distinguishing MFA among the few high schools in the country offering aviation as an examinable subject," the Ministry said.

The Bulldog aircraft has been in service since 1972 until its final flight in November 2023.

Having trained on the same aircraft, Brig Kipkorir expressed his pride in the occasion saying he looks forward to meeting future pilots.

"To all aviation students, this presents an exciting opportunity. Despite its age, the fundamentals of aviation remain unchanged, laying a solid foundation for your career. I eagerly anticipate seeing you soar in the skies," he said.

The school's chief principal James Maina, expressed gratitude to the Kenya Air Force for their generosity and support.

Maina emphasized the significance of the aircraft in motivating the students and ensuring they are trained in aviation.

"As a school, we are committed to maintaining and utilising this gift to its fullest potential. I urge all students with a passion for aviation to see this as a catalyst for achieving their career aspirations," he said.

Lieutenant Colonel Patrick Njoroge, a Kenya Air Force pilot and an alumni of Moi Forces Academy, revealed the prospects available to the students encouraging them to make the most of the opportunities.

Malachi Shiundu, an aviation student got a rare opportunity to start the aircraft's engine. He expressed gratitude and excitement for the experience.

"This moment will forever be etched in our memories. We extend our heartfelt gratitude to the Kenya Air Force and eagerly anticipate serving our country as future pilots." Shiundu said.

The event was attended by senior officers, service members, teachers, and students from Moi Forces Academy primary and secondary.
