Top exam performer selected to join Mang'u High School

Top student in this year's KCPE examination Muturi Michael Warutere has been selected to join Mang'u High School in Kiambu.

He is among the 42,927 pupils placed to join coveted national schools across the country.

The 13-year-old Warutere, who aspires to be a software engineer, was all smiles as he got news of his dream school.

Shining star

''As I go to the festive season, I am happy to have seen a star shining my way. The journey to my destination is three weeks away and I promise to exceed my expectations," he said.

He will be joined at Mang'u by Rotich Jeremy Kipng'eno of Moi Education Centre who got 424 marks as well as Jeremiah Maina (402 marks) from Bidii Primary School in Nairobi.

Others are Lungwanyi Wekesa Xavier, Nyongesa Wamono Ezra and Abdi Dawood Manzur of Bungoma DEB School who all will be joining Mang'u.

While Jecinta Bethany Khasungu who scored 427 marks at St Anne's Girls Primary School in Mumias will join Kenya High School.

Bethany who wants to pursue engineering has hailed her family for the support.

"My father, James Luchiri, taught me the ropes of attaining whatever I want in life. He has been a great inspiration in shaping my life choices and even my education," she said.

Joining her at Kenya High are Praise Owano who got 413 mark and Precious Wanjiru who scored 410 marks.

Kakamega Primary School will see 136 students join national schools. Top student Saviour Owino Ndubi who got 416 marks and Maclawrence Masulia (414 marks) will be joining Kapsabet High School.
