An assessment on the implementation of the Competency-based Curriculum will be out this week.

President William Ruto said his administration will give way forward following an informed advice from the Presidential Working Party.

Speaking at Joseph Kang'ethe Primary School, the Head of State said learners will know the transition destiny soon.

"A decision is going to be made in the very short time so that you can know next year, especially those who are in Grade Six and Grade Seven how they will move and transit to the next level," Ruto said.

He urged Grade Six learners to work extra hard in the examination since the fate of their transition will be sealed in a day.

Ruto said the Kenya Kwanza administration resolved to address education sector challenges to enhance the efficiency and quality of education.

Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua while at Komarock Primary school in Nairobi to oversee the distribution of examination papers in Nairobi, said Kenya Kwanza administration is seeking for better working conditions for teachers.

"The Presidential Working Party on educational reforms are looking at issues with CBC, Technical and Vocational Education and Training and University education," Gachagua said.

At the same time, Gachagua said the government will end delocalisation of teachers under the new education reforms that was put in place by the Teachers Service Commission in 2017.

On his part, Prime Cabinet Secretary Musalia Mudavadi said the government through the Ministry of Education will carefully scrutinise the report of the education reforms to evaluate the CBC.

Mudavadi assured parents and education stakeholders that the government will factor in recommendations from the taskforce with an aim of improving on the education systems.

Last week, the task force looking into the education system in its preliminary report recommended the country to have a five-year transition period to phase out the 8-4-4 system.
