KCSE written exams begin countrywide [Pictures]

The 2021 Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE) has officially begun across the country.

Although the practical examinations of technical and optional subjects began last Tuesday, written examinations for compulsory subjects have begun this morning.

This morning, Education CS Prof George Magoha, oversaw the opening and distribution of examinations in Mombasa County.

The CS also made rounds at Shimo la Tewa High School.

Trans Nzoia County Commissioner Sammy Ojwang was also present at the county’s exams headquarters supervising the opening and distribution of exam papers.

About 831,026 candidates across the country will sit for KCSE 2021.

The 2021 KCSE class saw a 10.42 per cent increase in the number of candidates who enrolled for the examinations.

In 2020, some 752, 602 registered for the final secondary school exams.

The exams will run from February 28, 2022, to April 1, 2022.
