Four administration police officers sustained minor injuries after their lorry veered off the road at Kwa Macembe along Embu - Kiritiri road in Embu County on Thursday.
The officers were travelling in an Isuzu lorry belonging to the Special Operations Group (SOG) from Garissa to Nairobi through Embu when the vehicle developed a mechanical problem and lost control, according to the regional Eastern traffic commander Lawrence Koilem.
Koilem told The Standard on phone that the injured officers were rushed to Embu level five teaching and referral hospital for treatment and that they were in stable condition.
He said that traffic officers from Kiritiri police station were busy trying to clear the road that had been blocked by the AP lorry and urged motorists to exercise caution while using the route.
He also said that investigations were underway to establish the cause of the accident and whether the lorry was carrying any weapons or ammunition.
