Mombasa Sports Club extend unbeaten run to four matches

Defending champions Mombasa Sports Club kept their unbeaten run intact after they won their fourth consecutive match of the Mombasa NIC Bank T20 cricket tournament.

Playing at their own turf, Mombasa Sports Club beat Mombasa Simba by 94 runs. Simba won the toss and elected to field.

Sports Club had 199 runs with Sagar Karia hitting 97 runs and Raj Shikotra added 35 more. Jay Trivedi and Zaheer Khaku each bagged 23 for the big win. Simba’s bowlers were Jasmeet and P. Manoj 2/41 and 2/21 respectively.

Simba's P Manoj had 35, while Vimesh had 25 as they scored 105 runs. Outstanding bowlers for Sporst Club were Zaheer Khaku (1/26) and Dev Kirani (1/15).

In another match at the same venue, Shree Cutchi Leva defeated Pakistan cricket club by four wickets. Pakistan had 149 runs with Farhaq and Irfan scoring 33 and 32 respectively. Shree’s bowlers were B Bipin (2/34) and H Mayur (1/22).

Chasing the target, Shree hit 152 with Kartik Pindoria and Akshay Bhamperi bagging 44 and 30 runs in that order. Pakistan bowlers Farhaq 2/25 and Saad 2/23 stood firm for their side.

At Coast Gymkhana Sports Club, the home team also maintained their good run after they beat Burhani Sports Club, who were at 87 after Yusuf Hussein scored 19, while Taha Yusufali and Mustan Khanbhai hit 16 each. Gurjeet Singh 3/29 and Adarsh Sawjani 2/8 bowled for Gymkhana.

Coast Gymkhana reached 88 after man-of-the-match Adarsh Sawjani hit half a century with Harshil Gohil adding 21 not out. Burhani bowlers had little to show with Mustan Khanbhai’s 1/10.

In the fourth match at the same time, Mombasa Heat upset former Coast league champions Jaffery Sports Club by 28 runs.

Nitesh hit 108 runs as Mombasa Heat hit 169, while David Tikolo and Ali Abdallah bagged 50 and 30, though Jaffery was at 141 runs.
